Caleb has been babbling variations like "A" or "Eh", "Ber", but this is the most clear - "BaBa".
Of course, Papa is very happy and proud. 8)

Caleb is 10 months old

DSC01112

Caleb is 10mths old today!

Time is definitely faster now as I see him grow week after weeks.
Our poor boy was a little sick 2 weeks ago. It started with diarrhoea and then fever and then runny nose & some coughing. But thank God he recovered rather fast. PoPo say he could see him shed some weight within 2 days. His chubby legs turns flabby. It’s heartpain to see him like that. Initially we thought it’s due to teething, cos he started to drool uncontrollably and bites on everything he can grab. PD suspected it’s more than teething woes, it could be some viral infection. But after a week of medication, Caleb boy is active again! And his appetite regained. Nothing is more happy than to see him eating well, sleeping well and playing well again! My active monkey baby is back! Hooray!
Caleb certainly add many colors to our routine life. After a week’s of slogging at work, we can finally look forward to bring him home again for the weekend. And each week, he “surprise” us with his “new tricks”.
From leopard crawl to crawling on his fours, climbing the stairs.
He stands very well now with support, sometimes even “dancing” and shaking his butt while standing. (very funny)
He enjoy “walking” while we hold his both hands. Tip-toed, zig-zagged, looks like a drunkard man.
The highlight of this week, he begins to talk and call “BaBa, BaBa”. We are unsure if he’s really calling Papa “BaBa”, cos he just babble “BaBa” even when he don’t see Papa. But Papa is still shiok about it. The old wives’ tales is, he will love the person he uttered first more in the future. Am I jealous? Well, not for now. I am comforted whenever he cry for me to carry or want to reach for me when he see me.
My Caleb boy is 10months old already! Counting down 2 months to his 1st birthday!

Feb Babies Gathering

  • Nov. 17th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
During my pregnancy days, I joined a motherhood forum and that’s where we share, support, complain, ask questions, give advice, feedback, etc, etc… So I’ve made friends with many Mummies over the time and we called ourselves the “Feb 09 Mums”. And co-incidentally, I “met” my primary school friend in this forum. We didn’t realised until much later. Although we chat with one another alot, I never really met them before. They organised a First Month old Gathering back in May. I was still too overwhelmed to join any gathering then. Then a 6-Month old Gathering, same thing, I didn’t participate. From the photos, it looked like lotsa fun, seeing over 10, even 20 babies together at the same time. Last Saturday, they organised a 9-Month old Gathering. I decided to bring Caleb to meet his fellow friends.
True enough, it’s really fun and very cute to see so many babies together. Caleb boy, as usual, very active, curious, crawling all over the playmat, grabbing things and putting inside his mouth. And because it coincide with his nap time, he was rather cranky for some time before I can finally pat him to sleep in the pram. This is the first time I handle him alone outside. My body was aching all over at the end of the day from crawling after with him and carrying this little fatty. Shag!

First fall

  • Nov. 15th, 2009 at 11:34 PM
What we’ve been trying to prevent has happened… Caleb had a great fall this morning. He somersault-ed from his cot. We thought we’ve ledged the fence, apparently not. Though we are just one arm’s length away from him, we could not hold him in time. Daddy even saw him fell with his own eyes. Caleb’s in shock, we were too for a moment. Our hearts sank when he cried so pitifully after the fall. It must be painful and traumatising… Our poor Caleb boy. But we thank God, he didn’t land head first on the ground. Really thank God he’s settled and comforted after a short while. I just hug him real tight and We pacify him with a bottle of (breakfast) milkmilk. And he’s back to Happy Caleb. A small red bump developed on his forehead after bath… heart aches more. But I try not to focus on that too much. By afternoon, he’s back to his active and normal self. Hooray! Strong and courageous Caleb! (That’s your name!) :)
We must be more careful in future to let u not go through this again..

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 12:15 AM

Thank God that Caleb is well liked by many in church. And thanks to all the Aunties & Uncles, GorGors & Jiejies, that we can take a breather from carrying him all day. But recently Caleb is getting a little heavy, as feedback by many. So they get easily tired after a short while. Oops! Sorry for the muscle aches! Paiseh Paiseh...Hahhaa..

But Auntie Grace’s stamina is good. She say it’s a good way to help her work out. LoL

9th month milestones

DSC01035
I am given time off from work on Fri since we are moving office. That means I can spend more time with Caleb boy! * Happie Happie* And probably because of that, I found that Caleb boy is able to recognise I am Mummy. When we brought him to church last Sat for YF, he begins to look for me when carried by other people. Needless to say, there’s this unspoken sense of happiness inside my heart. My son needs me and is looking for me! We totally enjoy ourselves on Saturday playing our own version of “Don’t forget the lyrics”. It’s been quite long since I’ve enjoy this feeling: singing, laughing, playing games and have great fellowship! Thank God, Caleb is very co-operative that day. I believe he enjoy clapping and laughing together with us that day. I am so proud of him!

Another thing that we are really thrilled about, Caleb knows how to wave Goodbye. When he see me busy packing his bag and dressing him up, he knows he’s heading out. And if we step out of the door without him, he will cry and make alot of noise. On Sat, as usual we get him to bid goodbye to his greatgrandparents before going out, he actually knows how to lift his hand up and wave *byebye*. We tried that out this morning, just to confirmed it’s not coincidental, and he did it again. Well done! :)

Caleb is very capable to self-amused. And we simply love it! He laughs alot by himself and you just can't help but laugh with him..

The fun period now!

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 11:28 PM

It’s a very fun period now with Caleb. Beside reaching milestones after milestones, his reactions, response and social skills amuse us tremendously. We just simply can’t help  but love him more and more each day!

Here’s some of the funny things I managed to catch it on camera. Cheerio!

Fri morning, seeing Daddy getting ready for work. He is learning the thing that he will probably do every other day in 20 years time – use a shave machine. He's fascinated with the "Yeein Yeein" sound from the shaver. See how he give a hand to Papa.

Caleb went swimming again

  • Nov. 7th, 2009 at 11:22 PM

We brought Caleb for swimming again on Sat. We tried on the new arm floats which YehYeh bought for him. The float were a little tight for his fatty arms. So he doesn’t really like it.

He didn’t enjoy it as much as the last time, probably because he’s already feeling sleepy when he brought him out, so he’s a little whiny.

Papa tried to give him the 1st swimming lesson. Not successful because he cry the moment Papa try to float him on his back. Orh Oh.. I think he’s like Mummy… love to play water but hate to swim.

Caleb is 9 months old

  • Nov. 3rd, 2009 at 11:48 PM

Caleb is 9 months old today!

THANK GOD.

We have to thank alot more people too for the past 9 months, at least.

Our parents and grandparents, who gave us lotsa support then and now, shower lotsa love especially on Prince Caleb. Yes. He’s Prince cos he speaks louder than anyone of us now. Friends and colleagues who constantly show interest in him and enjoying reading my blog and giving comments on FB. *LoL* Brothers and sisters in church, who have been praying for us since I’m pregnant and even now.

Caleb is a super boy now. Super active, cheeky and funny. It’s really lotsa fun to be with him. Also mean you need good stamina cos he’s really heavy to carry. I guess he should be at least 11kg now? Quite a few friends who tried to carry him “complained” after 5min.

Caleb is a very happy boy. He laughs alot more these days & those smiles never fail to melt our hearts. I simply love his laugh “Hur Hur, Hur Hur”. That’s also how he earn his “fans”.

Fun with Papa

  • Oct. 27th, 2009 at 8:52 PM

It’s always great to have Papa around. Perhaps being a boy himself before, he knows what boys like.

When I was preggy with Caleb, we see some fathers carry their kids on their back and the kids totally enjoy it. So Papa also want to do that to Caleb.

We find ourselves more busy during weekends than weekdays. It’s often Out-and-about during weekends. That also explains my mass postings during my "off days" during the week.
This is Caleb in his car seat, ready to go to another Baby’s birthday party. I put on a new pair of shoes for him I bought online for him. But again.. it’s getting too tight. Haiz. He got elephant’s feet! Even 12-18mths can’t fit.

We also went to tour around TP, in one of Papa’s classrooms where he hold his class regularly. Nice facilities! Cool classroom. Students these days are much fortunate than us. I remember my JC classroom is so “old” and no air-con. Always make me sleepy in class… zzzz

Caleb’s first swim in a swimming pool

  • Oct. 27th, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Forget abt the swimming tub we’ve bought and only used twice. It just simply take up too much effort and time to set it up. We brought Caleb to a REAL pool last Saturday. The best thing about the pool at TP: 1) It’s free! 2) It’s big. 3) It’s very clean! 4) It’s “warm”, not chilly at all! and 5) It’s not crowded at all! So it’s feels somewhat private.

The sun was already very strong at 11am. So we didn’t let Caleb swim for too long, about 15min only. Very enjoyable and we intend to bring him there more often. The best thing is they have a baby pool which is really shallow. Caleb walked a few rounds in it. When Papa try to “float” him, he cry… Hmmmm… did he inherit Mummy’s “fear” for water??? *Orh Oh*

We got a free swan float when we bought the swimming tub the other time. Yes, I know, it’s kinda sissy to let him use it. Ahyah, free mah, just for him to float la. YehYeh suggest we get him the arm floats for him. Good idea.

I simply love him in his mini swimming diaper. So sexy! 白白胖胖… whahhaa

The picture colors are Perfect! Thanks to the good sunlight that day…

TaiTai for a day

  • Oct. 27th, 2009 at 6:10 PM

Last Thursday, I took 1 day leave to do a “major overhaul”. I desperately wanted a change to my dull hair. It’s been almost a year since I do something decent to it.

So I went to Pamela as early as she’s open. As usual, I am always Up-and-down with what I am going to do with my hair. It’s a irreversible change. I was considering a light perm and color. But very worried abt the end result would turn out like a lion. So she recommend I get a trim and highlight. Hmmm, sounds quite safe. Ok.

But I just realised the gold streaks are a bit too “wild” (?) for me and make my hair looks really dry. It’s nice but I don’t really like it. So intend to go back in a months’ time and re-do it all over again.

Lesson learnt: Just stick to my “classics” and it will not go so wrong.

After hairdo, I go down for my long overdue facial. Enjoyed a relaxing 2hours session.

And after all my appointments I went to pick Papa and Baby Caleb home. So shiok.

Total damage that day was nearly $300 bucks. *Ka-ching* It’s not that easy to be a Taitai after all.
